upfrontNY: Tell us about your new single, “Spike’s Groove.” What was your recording process like? What can you tell us about the new music video?
Stelle Amor: “Spike’s Groove” is one of my favorite songs on the record. It’s sultry and dives into the more romantic side of my life, a pulsing, raw love song. This song was almost effortless to record for me – it’s in my sweet spot, vocally, and came out with ease. The music video was made to reflect more of the sultry vibe than tell a story, it’s nonsensical but magical just like love.

After meeting Stelle Amor, you begin to realize why she stands at a towering 6 feet tall – it takes all that to contain her enormous personality, infectious laugh, magnetic energy, and that voice…. often described as “timeless,” blending various styles of soul, blues, alternative, and pop. Born in Kansas and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Stelle cut her teeth performing at age 18 by sneaking into Louisville’s Stevie Ray’s Blues Bar and hopping onstage to improvise blues vocals. Eventually, she moved out to Nashville to pursue her music. After initially being pushed toward country music, Stelle eventually began to cultivate a “soulternative” sound that highlighted her sultry singing voice. Today, Live For Live Music is excited to premiere Stelle Amor’s self-titled debut EP ahead of tomorrow’s official release.

Love is boundless, she says
In her dreams, she’s Been To The Moon,

She feels right when she dances wild and sings out loud,
And people who find a reflect in her Soul end up as loud and proud:
That’s how you get right.

"1. Tell us a little about your latest release. What might a fan or listener not grab the first or second time they listen through? Are there any hidden nuggets the band put in the material or that only diehard fans might find?
“Spikes Groove” is our newest single and my favorite song on the record. It’s more jazz influenced than any other song on the EP and that’s a huge part of my band’s background. I am in love with the Wurlitzer parts in this song, which don’t necessarily jump out at you at first. It’s a beautiful sparkle and adds such a trippy vibe."
"Stelle Amor has a mission to “serenade the world,” inspiring people through her music and spreading the message of love and unity.
Stelle’s introduction to music came from her parents playing classic rock, blues, and country albums in their home. She began writing around the same time other kids were learning to ride a bike. In addition to performing her songs at small venues in Louisville, Stelle would sneak into Stevie Ray’s Blues Bar (she was only 18) and sit in with the band, improvising lyrics and singing the blues. “Singing with those blues bands is when I realized my true calling as an artist and performer,” she says."
